Yamaha Guitars

Yamaha Guitars have a long tradition of manufacturing musical instruments – it manufactured it’s first instrument (a reed organ) in 1887 and some years later in 1942 produced it’s first acoustic guitar.

In 1966 Yamaha set up a distribution company in Germany and began to market their guitars in Europe. These days their instruments are sold throughout the world and Yamaha Guitars are highly regarded.

Yamaha manufacture a range of musical products from guitars to keyboards through to drums and percussion. Yamaha have a variety of manufacturing plants and depending on the model your guitar could be made in Japan, USA, Korea, Philippines, Indonesia, or Taiwan. Yamaha was one of the first Japanese manufacturers to setup outside of Japan in the early 1980’s.

These days they manufacture a range of Electric and Acoustic guitars – they have a variety of ranges of each instrument and these include solid body electrics (the usual Les Paul and Stratocaster inspired lines) and Archtop guitars. The guitars tend to include quality components for example Seymore Duncan and DiMarzio pickups, Quality wood bodies such as Alder and Mahogany and quality components such as Bigsby Tremolo units. As usual for Japanese instruments the rigorous manufacturing process produces good quality products.

Often thought of as guitars for beginners in recent years Yamaha guitars have attempted to change this view by improving the components that are fitted to their guitars – widening their product range and garnering associations with today’s top artists.

Yamaha Guitars have a rich association with a variety of today’s top artists including Mike Stern and Ryan Shuck and produce a range of signature instruments for artists such as Sammy Hagar.
